It is with great sadness that St. Edith’s Parochial Church Council announce the deaths of their 2 Churchwardens. Mary Mundy stood down from her duties in April of this year due to her worsening ill health. She had been suffering with cancer for many years and after her determined fight, succumbed to her illness on the 1st August. Mrs Janet McKee, our remaining Churchwarden suddenly passed away on the 3rd August, after a short illness.

Mary retired to Manby after her career working as a Licensee in the Public House Industry. Janet, whose family were local farmers for many generations moved into her family farmhouse after retiring from teaching music and English in local schools.

Mary Mundy and Janet McKee

Mary and Janet had been Churchwardens for over 20 years and Janet also played the Church organ for our services, as well as St. Michael’s Church in Louth. They were both well known throughout the Midmarsh and Louth Church families, where they were respected for their long and faithful service to St. Edith’s Church and its community.

They were very close friends and have touched so many lives with God’s love that they will be so sadly missed by so many for many years to come. Two friends now together again in Gods care.
