St. Edith’s ‘A Community Church moving forward FOR YOU’

Firstly, St. Edith’s PCC would like to inform you that our Sunday Service Time has changed. Our Sunday Service will now commence at 10.30am, NOT 11.15am, and we will welcome all new members to our congregation.

Our Christmas Services went very well, with many attending our new Evening Carol Candlelit Service, where mulled wine and mince pies went down extremely well!! Of course, our always very popular Crib service, once again was very well attended. I would also like to add that the remainder of our mulled wine and mince pies was consumed rapidly after that service too (with treats for the children).  Both services were led by our retired resident priest, Reverend Julie.

We would like to thank all who attended and helped with our Christmas preparations to make this celebration such a success and an enjoyable time for all, young and old.

We are also most pleased that Freda has re-opened our shop and café after what seems to have been a long break. Since re-opening we are thrilled that so many visitors have attended, bringing and buying in support of many of Freda’s worthwhile and needy causes.

As regards our church building, plans and estimates are being sorted, and preparations are going well, with fundraising events being investigated. In addition, we are obtaining quotes and permissions to redecorate the unsightly south aisle, which will hopefully to be carried soon.

Do look out for our AFTERNOON TEAS & CAKES on 23rd May at Old Chapel House, to help raise funds for the Nave Alterations, also our 2nd SUMMER FUNDAY on 4th July. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing there.
