Our Harvest service was held at 11.15am on 6th October and presidedover by our retired Priest Revd Julie Oddy-Bates. The service was a joint service with the St. Edith’s and the Breakfast Church congregation, with their leader, Mr Mark Harrison leading the Prayers. We were also fortunate to have Mark’s wife, Margaret who played our organ to some very uplifting hymns.
After the service a two course lunch was held, consisting of various soups and rolls, accompanied by cheeses, celery and grapes finished off with several variations of sweets. We also held a raffle after lunch with some fantastic items donated; thank you for those.
Although the morning was very dark and wet, our service was most invigorating, and a good time was had by all. We had some new people attend for the first time and they were made most welcome.
We would like to thank everyone who supplied the food and prepared the tables. A special thanks to Freda, Christine and Margaret who kept the delicious food flowing, and of course did most of the tidying up.
We were generously given two large boxes of non-perishable food, and this was taken to The Louth Larder, for those who at this time face financial hardships.
